Lions’ Aidan Hutchinson carted off the field with a broken tibia against the Cowboys

Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson was carted off the field with a bruised left leg on a sack by Dallas’ Dak Prescott.

When Hutchinson pulled Prescott down in the third quarter on Sunday, Hutchinson’s leg snapped above the ankle after colliding with teammate Alim McNeil’s left leg.

The Lions were 34-6 at the time of the injury to Hutchinson, who entered the game leading the NFL in sacks with 6.5.

After Detroit’s 47-9 win, Lions coach Don Campbell told reporters That Hutchinson is dealing with a broken tibia.

“Obviously, he’s going to be down for a while,” Campbell said. “It’s tough. It’s tough when you lose someone like him. But we’ll know a lot more after this and we wish him the best.”

Hutchinson underwent surgery On his feet when he arrived at the hospital.

As players from both teams formed a large circle around the second overall pick in the 2022 draft, there was about a 10-minute delay as medical personnel attended to Hutchinson.

After putting Hutchinson in a carriage, his leg in a cast, Teammates and Dallas players have tapped the 24-year-old. Hutchinson had the third Detroit sack of the game. McNeill was the first two, and Trevor Nowaske added another after Hutchinson left.
