Hezbollah targets Israeli troops, settlements; 12 Israeli soldiers were killed

The Lebanese opposition movement Hezbollah has launched new retaliation against Israel, targeting several of the regime’s military positions.

The Israeli military confirmed on Friday that a dozen soldiers were killed during a ground attack in southern Lebanon.

In separate statements issued on Friday, Hezbollah said it had targeted Israeli troop concentrations with missiles and artillery shells at various locations in the north of the occupied territories.

“The missile and air forces of the Islamic Resistance continue to target military bases and settlements deep inside northern occupied Palestine, with increasing intensity every day,” a Hezbollah statement said.

“All these military operations of the Islamic resistance have been carried out with high-level, detailed and real-time coordination between the leadership of the resistance and the operations room, which extends to the fighters stationed on the front lines,” it said. .

Also, the organization said that it has thwarted several attempts by Israel to penetrate into the Lebanese territory.

“It is noteworthy that the Israeli enemy army, a few days after announcing a ground maneuver in southern Lebanon, could not display its tanks and military vehicles in the Lebanese area for fear that they would be targeted. Hidden locations,” the Hezbollah statement said.

“The Israeli enemy, as of the time of this report, has failed to gain control over any of the strategic mountains it is trying to reach, settling in a few houses on the outskirts of a few border villages to take photographs and organize the media. Visits,” it said.

“The Israeli enemy army uses the houses of settlers in some settlements of northern Occupied Palestine as gathering places for its officers and soldiers, and its military bases that manage the occupation against Lebanon are located in settlement neighborhoods in major cities such as Haifa, Tiberias, Acre and others,” it said.

“These homes and military bases are targets of the Islamic resistance’s missile and air forces. Therefore, we warn the settlers to avoid these military gatherings for their safety until further notice,” Hezbollah said.

Earlier, Hezbollah announced strikes against the occupied Golan Heights, Haifa and Kiryat Shmona.

It said the attacks were in response to Israeli attacks against Lebanese towns, villages and civilians, and in support of and against Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel’s attack on Lebanon has killed more than 2,141 people, including dozens of children and scores of women, and wounded 10,099 since October 2023, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled their homes in Beirut to escape Israeli airstrikes.

Lebanese health officials have condemned Israel for indiscriminately targeting emergency rescue workers and civilians.
