One person died and eight others were injured following a crash on I-10 East at Michoud Blvd. Officials say the crash happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police say several crashes have been reported due to low visibility on Interstate 10 between Irish Bayou and Michoud due to fog and smoke from a marsh fire burning near Bayou Sauvage. The NOPD says there were three separate crashes in the eastbound lanes and one fatality involving five cars. All lanes of I-10 have now reopened.
