Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal has entered the ₹100 crore club. Released on 1 December, the film collected ₹67.27 crore (₹58.37 crore for Hindi version + ₹8.90 crore in South Indian languages) on its second day, Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted. 63.80 crores on day 1 collection on day 2. In total, the Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandana starrer has collected ₹131.07 crore. Apart from Ranbir and Rashmika, Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Tripti Dimri and Shakti Kapoor in pivotal roles. Taran Adarsh wrote in his post, “’Animal’ is a box office monster…#Animal goes wild on day 2 [Sat]…Metros, non-metros, mass pockets – response is great, 2 day total will take more than ₹ 100 crore…”

Film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave NDTV 1.5 stars in his review Animal. He wrote, “To justify that it’s a man’s world, Animal Presents two men who are as physically scarred as they are mentally. One loses all sense of taste and smell and can’t hear after six bullet wounds push his heart to the brink of collapse. The other cannot speak. He communicates with the help of a brother who works as a sign interpreter. When the two men fight at the climax – such confrontations are usually staged in such revenge stories on the tarmac of an airport. If you think that the physical handicaps that the fighting couple have to deal with should be seen as a metaphor for what men like them don’t have, dispel that thought. Everything the hero does to ensure he has his way is backed up with a sinister justification. What greater motive could an animal have with an audience than a man’s desire to attract the attention of a distracted father?”
