Jack Wilson's tumultuous Jets tenure ends with an interesting landing spot.
The Jets sent Wilson and a seventh-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for a sixth-round pick on Monday.
Wilson joins a quarterback room that lacks anyone who has been a successful NFL starter.
The Broncos released Russell Wilson earlier this offseason, absorbing $85 million in dead cap to free the quarterback after he and Sean Payton didn't gel together after two seasons in Denver.
Jared Stidham may top the depth chart, at least for now.
Stidham, 27, started the Broncos' final two games last season when Wilson was benched so the team wouldn't have to worry about a freak game triggering the injury guarantee in his contract.
He started both games for the Raiders in 2022.
Stidham was drafted by the Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft and backed up Tom Brady in his rookie season, Cam Newton in his sophomore campaign and Mack Jones in his third year.
The other quarterback currently under contract with the Broncos is Ben DiNucci, who started one game with the Cowboys in 2020.
DiNucci was the Cowboys' backup in 2020 and 2021, then played 2023 for the XFL's Portland Sea Dragons before signing with the Broncos last May.
Wilson was selected second overall by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft, and the team went 12-21 in his starts over the past three seasons.
It remains to be seen if the Broncos add any other quarterbacks via the draft, trade or free agency.
The Post's Steve Serby has the Broncos selecting Oregon quarterback Bo Nix at No. 12 in his latest mock draft.
